Prelude Concert Band is a welcoming and inclusive community band designed for musicians playing at approximately Grade 2 standard and above and is open to all ages. We would love to hear from any players of woodwind, brass, string bass (double bass), or percussion instruments. Any pianists who would like to give tuned percussion a go are also encouraged to get in touch. Whether you’re learning to play at school, returning to your instrument after a break, building your confidence, or looking for an encouraging environment to grow your skills, Prelude Concert Band offers the perfect opportunity to play in an ensemble setting. We also welcome any experienced players who are a little rusty or out of practice.

The band is run by members of the Alnwick Playhouse Concert Band, who bring their experience, enthusiasm, and support to every rehearsal. With a varied repertoire tailored to suit developing players, Prelude Concert Band focuses on enjoyment, musical progression, and teamwork. Join us to make music, meet fellow musicians, and experience the joy of playing together in a fun, friendly atmosphere.

Rehearsals are every Monday from 6:30pm to 7:15pm in the Alnwick Playhouse Auditorium. This is a new initiative and our first rehearsal will be on Monday 12th January 2026.
